EuroBioFund, an ambitious programme launched by the active European Science Foundation (ESF) to help address future life science challenges in Europe, will centre on a key annual conference: EuroBioForum.
This new approach is a unique opportunity for researchers to promote their ideas to funding organisations in a coordinated manner, and to participate in decision-making that could ultimately lead to trans-national funding of advanced programmes from multiple sources.
“EuroBioForum is certainly an essential tool for the coordination and the promotion of the scientific community activities”, says Wouter Spek, Director of EuroBioFund. “It is a dynamic way to stimulate the development of new partnerships.”
EuroBioForum is an occasion for funders to meet scientists, and observe the wide range of possibilities existing in terms of research programmes.
Researchers will be invited to provide a precise and detailed vision of their project through posters and presentations, fleshed out with information on the possible financial and organisational structure of the project.
In addition, funding bodies will have the opportunity to exhibit their activities, programmes and policies.
The first networking event will be held in Helsinki, 14-15, December 2006, and two other forums are already planned in Portugal in 2007 and in France in 2008.
