Nature's 2012 Salary and Satisfaction Survey suggests that many scientists are content with their work, but uneasy about their finances.
In this article highlighting the results of this year's survey, Martin Hynes, ESF Chief Executive, notes that in the 2012 results, as in 2010, satisfaction for assistant professors and lecturers in Europe is lower than for those in North America, possibly because of lack of empowerment or tenure-track positions.
