Either the institute of origin or the receiving institute should be in a country in which a funding agency contributes to the SIMU Programme (currently Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom).

Conditions of Eligibility
To be considered for a fellowship a candidate has to:

Administrative Procedure
Fellowships are available for visits from one week to three months in duration. Actual costs of travel (on the basis of APEX fares) and accommodation will be covered and a per diem allowance (30.5 EUR) will be paid within the maximum limits of the grant (4,573 EUR). Applicants are requested to provide an estimated budget for their visit, on which the maximum amount of their grant will be based.

The final payment in either case will be made after reception at the ESF Secretariat of a short report from the grantee on completion of his/her visit. Original used tickets for travel and bills for accommodation must also be forwarded to the ESF Secretariat when claiming the final payment.
There are no deadlines for applications.
