Public Goods, Public Projects, Externalities (PGPPE)

Activities

Science Meetings

  • Workshops
Each year a thematic workshop dealing with a specific topic will be held. These workshops will bring together different expertises in the field. To this end, there will be no parallel sessions, in order to maximise the scientific interactions.

  • Summer schools
Two summer schools will take place in 2007 and 2009. The courses will be taught by team members or invited external speakers during five days. They will take the form of intensive morning and afternoon lectures for the four first days. The last day of each school will be dedicated to seminars, discussions and questions. The Programme aims at providing a wide and thorough survey of some minutely chosen research papers, as well as developing some research collaborations with externals and young researchers interested in working in the subject of public goods, public projects and externalities.

  • End of programme conference
In the last year of the project, a major conference will be organised to disseminate the results of both programme participant and outside Expertises. Key speakers will be invited to the conference. The Programme will seek collaboration from an established organisation such as the Association of Public Economic Theory (APET).

Grants

The programme will enable scholars, both established researchers and PhD students from participating countries, to exchange visits.  The purpose is to carry out research for a duration of  one week to a month within the project outline.
