• The SPECIAL II second Annual Workshop and  the second Coordination Committee Meeting were held from 20 to 23 February 2003 at the Franz-Heinrich-Ulrich-Haus in Frankfurt, Germany.

• The first Coordination Committee Meeting of the new SPECIAL II network was held in conjunction with its first workshop which took place from 3 to 6 January 2002 at Selwyn College in Cambridge.
