Chaired by: Fredrik Höök, Chalmers University of Technology, SE
Co-Chaired by: Janos Vörös, ETH Zürich, CH
Programme |
The conference programme will cover, in a broad sense, science and technology of relevance for interfaces between synthetic materials and biological systems – biointerfaces – which constitute one of the most dynamic and expanding interdisciplinary fields in science and technology. Key aspects of biointerface science and technology by will be presented by 20 invited presentations of internationally renowned researchers, complemented by 3 to 6 shorter contributed oral presentations of young scientists. It includes basic science as well as applications, towards for example biosensors & bioelectronics, biomaterials for medical implants and tissue engineering and surface/interface aspects of drug targeting and release as well as nanotoxicology. Selected keynote speakers will also be invited to put the biointerface field in the larger scientific and social context, covering historical and ethical aspects of the field, general principles that govern biointeractions in nature, and scientific and economical perspectives of the field for the future.
To learn more about the conference, please see the preliminary programme.
