Stefano Luzzatto
, ICTP, IT; Marcello Viana, IMPA, BR and Jean-Christophe Yoccoz, Collège de France, FR.

Programme

The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics and the European Science Foundation organized a “School and Conference in Dynamical Systems” within the framework of the ICTP-ESF Series of High Level Conferences on Geometry and Dynamics, in Trieste, Italy.  The School took place from 21 May to 1 June 2012. The conference on Dynamical Systems took place from 4 to 8 June 2012 and invited some of the best experts in the field as well as brillant young researchers. They provided the participants with some of the most recent and most interesting perspectives for future research.

Main topics:

  • Chaotic dynamics
  • Conservative dynamics
  • Ergodic Theory
  • Geometric, algebraic, and topological aspects of Dynamics
  • One-dimensional dynamics

To learn more about the conference, please see the final programme.

ESF Grants are available for students and early stage researchers to cover the conference fee and possibly part of the travel costs. Grants are distributed based on financial need and scientific merit. Grantees must attend the entire conference in order to benefit from the grant. Grant requests should be made by ticking appropriate field(s) in the paragraph "Grant application" of the application form.

4 EUR of this fee is used to make this conference more ecologically sustainable. This amount will allow us to offset almost 100% of the CO2 emissions created by this conference and are part of our efforts to make ESF Research Conferences greener. For more information, please click here.

Detailed information on all practical aspects of the conference will be soon available.
