Individual Short Visits (NO DEADLINE)

These short visits are mainly for senior scientists with a maximum support
of 1 300 EUR per visit. Payment are being made after the visit.

Application procedure:

- the name and affiliation of the scientist travelling and the research group to be visited;
- one page should be written by the visiting scientist or the hosting institution on the goals of the envisaged visit;
- an estimate of proposed expenditure should be appended

A short scientific report will be requested after termination of the visit.
Application should be sent to David Sherrington    the outcome will be known within 2 weeks.

Individual Long Visits (NO DEADLINE)

The long visits are mainly for younger scientists with a maximum duration of one month and a maximum support of 2000 EUR

Application procedure: same as above.

General SPHINX Conference in 2001

Il Ciocco, Castelvecchio Pascoli, Italy

 

A general conference covering all the areas of activity of SPHINX (Statistical Physics of Glassy and Non-Equilibrium Systems) will be held at Il Ciocco, Italy 29 August - 6 September 2001.

The international conference centre Il Ciocco is situated in northern Tuscany, 500m above sea-level, not far from the village of Castevechio Pascoli in a private thousand-acre estate overlooking the Serchio Valley and the Apuane mountains. The conference centre is approximately 40 km from Lucca, 60 km from Pisa and 110 km from Florence. The venue is in an isolated position and when travelling by car, you should follow the signs for "Il Ciocco". Bus service will be organised from Pisa airport and Pisa railway station to Il Ciocco. All participants will be accommodated at Il Ciocco.
