Cultural Literacy in Europe
First International Conference London, 16-18 April 2015
This international conference is the first step in implementing the first two recommendations of the ESF-COST Science Policy Briefing Cultural Literacy in Europe Today published in 2013:
- Create a biennial Cultural Literacy conference series
- Inaugurate a European Forum for Literary and Cultural Studies (LCS) research
The conference will bring together academics interested in the development of LCS in Europe and beyond, as well as policymakers at European and national level.
The 2015 Conference will have two aspects:
- academic debate on four Literary and Cultural Studies fields
- strategic discussion involving academics together with invited policymakers and funders at European and national level
A Call for Individual Papers and Project Presentations is open. Deadline for applications: 31 August 2014.
A number of Early-Career Bursaries are also available.
Deadline for registration: 30 March 2015.
