Programme |
The Center for Biotechnology (CeBiTec) of Bielefeld University organizes the "Late Autumn School on Advanced Techniques in Bacterial Genome Research" which will be held at the CeBiTec from November 24th to November 27th 2010. The Late Autumn School will be conducted subsequent to the conference entitled "Microbes and Industrial Biotechnology 2010" which is jointly organized by the European Science Foundation (ESF) in collaboration with Bielefeld University (BU) and CeBiTec. The conference will be held at the Park Inn, Bielefeld, Germany from November 21st to 24th, 2010.
The practical course focuses on:
• ultrafast sequencing technologies (454-technology, DNA preparatory work, emulsification etc.)
• bioinformatics tools (post assembly workbench, genome annotation, metabolic reconstruction, comparative genomics, metagenomics tools etc.)
• high-throughput transcriptomics (total RNA purification, Cy labeling, labeling of reversetranscribed total RNA etc.)
• state-of-the-art metabolomics/proteomics (2D gel electrophoresis, metabolite extraction and derivatization, MALDI-TOF-MS, GCxGCTOF-MS etc.)
Each successful applicant may select one of the following practical courses:
• Ultrafast Sequencing Technologies/Bioinformatics Tools
• Transcriptomics/Proteomics/Metabolomics
