The Final Conference of the ESF Forward Look on “Media Studies – New Media and New Literacies” follows closely on four thematic workshops in 2012 which were devoted to defining challenges in key areas of research in media studies (see Background).
At the Final Conference, the draft Final Report of the activity will be presented and discussed with a broad audience of stakeholders in media and communications research. The Conference will therefore bring together about 50 researchers, policy-makers, practitioners and other stakeholders to discuss the conclusions reached within the Forward Look, to agree upon precise and realistic recommendations and to plan for their implementation.
Input from the participants at the Final Conference will be integrated into the Final Report, which will be widely disseminated among academic and policy audiences in 2013. The intention is to provide actors and stakeholders with a more informed understanding of future challenges relating to developments in media and communication technologies and to shape research and policy agendas. Your participation at this critical event would therefore be highly valued.
Participation is by invitation only, but a small number of places will be available for interested individuals. Please contact the ESF office for further information.
