Planned activities in 2003

During this extension year the programme will hold the following meetings in order to finalise the work for the publications:

Team 1: Religion, cultural differentiation and cultural identities will organise a small workshop . Date and place to be confirmed.

Team 2: Cities and cultural exchange

Workshop organised by Derek Keenes in London  (United Kingdom) 12-13 September.

Team 3: Information and communication

Workshop on Translation organised by Eftthymios Nicolaides in Athens (Greece) 30-31 May.

Team 4: Man and the exchange of material goods intends to hold no workshop this year.

A Steering Committee meeting was held in Rome on 10-12 January

Workshop on Cities and Foreigners: centers of Prestige Culture (Courts, Schools, Academies) organised by James Amelang in Madrid (Spain) 16-20 May.

Team 3: Information and communication

Workshop on Correspondence and cultural translation in early modern times organised by Renate Pieper in Graz (Austria) 6-8 December.

Team 4: Man and the exchange of material goods

Workshop on Cultural Transfer: The theoretical approach organised by Olga Pollack and Berndt Roeck in Zürich (Switzerland) 25-27 October.
