Cyanobacterial Nitrogen Fixation

Travel grants

The CYANOFIX Programme offered travel grants to support visits between different European countries.

Priority topics for applications for travel grants are:

  • cyanobacteria: O2 protection
  • cyanobacteria: NtcA/N control
  • cyanobacteria: gene transfer
  • symbiotic cyanobacteria/ associations
  • N2 fixing cyanobacteria in the environment
  • biodiversity of N2-fixing cyanobacteria
  • ecology of N2-fixing cyanobacteria

To support visits by both senior and younger researchers (including graduate students) of up to three months are available. Visits should be relevant to the CYANOFIX Programme. One of the institutes involved should be in a country in which a Member Organisation financially supports the Programme. Support will cover real costs of travel (on the basis of APEX fares) and of accommodation (on a bed and breakfast basis). In addition, a per diem contribution towards daily living expenses will be paid within the maximum limits of the grant (1550 Euro per month, up to a maximum of 4650 Euro).
