The CYANOFIX Programme has organised a series of summer schools, the first of which, Characterisation techniques for nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria, was held in Finland in July 1999.
This was followed by a summer school on Symbiotic cyanobacteria, held in Ballyvaughan, Ireland in summer 2000.
The third summer school, on Cyanobacterial nitrogen fixation: physiology and molecular biology, was held in Sevilla, Spain on 3-17 June 2001.
The final CYANOFIX Summer School on Cyanobacteria and Nitrogen Fixation in Extreme Environments, was held in Longyearbyen, Norway.
