European Ice Sheet Modelling Initiative (EISMINT)

More about the Programme

The aim of EISMINT is to increase our understanding of the role of ice sheets in the climate system by improving mathematical modelling. The key areas examined are the physical basis of modelling, provision of standard datasets, and intercomparison of models and results. The two-year extension to EISMINT activities was approved by the ESF Executive Council in November 1995. Funding will therefore be extended until end 1997 but the Programme'es activities will continue to run through to April 1999.
