Response of the Earth System to Impact Processes (IMPACT)

Workshops

ESF IMPACT Short Course on Impact Stratigraphy, Osservatorio Geologico di Coldigioco, Italy, 4-11 May 2002.
The goal of this Short Course will be the recognition and study of impactoclastic layers in the 150-15 Ma pelagic record of the Umbria-Marche Apennines.  It will consist of a day of introductory lectures and an explanation of the program, followed by five days of field excursions,  finishing with a mini-conference and presentation of the results.

ESF IMPACT Workshop on IMPACT Tectonism, Mora, Sweden, 31 May - 3 June 2002.
This Workshop will focus on tectonics of impact structures and will be located at the town of Mora within the Siljan Impact Structure, the largest known impact crater in Western Europe.  In this workshop, lectures will be combined with field studies at nearby sites of the Siljan crater.
