GRAPHENE Flagship

About the Project

The GRAPHENE Flagship is one of Europe’s first technology flagships. The mission is to take graphene and related layered materials from academic laboratories to society, revolutionise multiple industries and create economic growth and new jobs in Europe.

With GRAPHENE Flagship, Europe has launched a new form of joint, coordinated research initiative of unprecedented scale. Graphene Flagship brings together an academic-industrial consortium of 75 partners from 17 countries aiming at a breakthrough for technological innovation. The research effort covers the entire value chain from materials production to components and system integration, and targets a number of specific goals that exploit the unique properties of graphene

The ESF is a partner of the GRAPHENE Flagship consortium partner during its 30-month ramp-up phase in the FP7 programme. The ESF is involved in the Flagship’s dissemination (organisation of the Graphene Week Conferences 2014 and 2015), programmatic alignment between national and European initiatives and the management of the GRAPHENE competitive call for consortium extension.
