The workshop was organised in the framework of the ESF Member Organisation Forum European Alliance on Research Careers and featured a mix of panel and break-out sessions focusing on researcher professional development, career tracking and new concepts of mobility.
In hs concluding remarks, Martin Hynes, ESF Chief Executive, thanked all participants for the insightful presentations and discussions during the workshop, which have clearly signalled the need for new concepts on mobility and the need for a pilot project on researchers’ career tracking as well the longer-term aim to advance a researchers' professional development framework.
He was pleased to announce that ESF will coordinate the Call for expression of interest in participating in a pilot study over summer 2013, so that a further step in the right direction can be taken.
