This conference is in its second cycle after a very successful meeting in Nancy (France) in 2008. The aim of this conference is to discuss cutting-edge developments in our attempts to understand the emerging mechanisms associated with redox processes in living cells. Thiols will form the central theme. The keywords describing the conference are redox, thiols, iron-sulfur, cysteine, thiol/disulfide exchange reactions, oxidative stress, antioxidant capacity, redox regulation and signaling, reactive oxygen species, glutathione, mycothiol, trypanothione, detoxification, peroxiredoxins, sulfenic acid, and oxidative protein folding.

Poster Prize: the Scientific Committee will select the 3 best posters and award them with a prize of 300EUR, 200EUR and 100EUR respectively. Poster Session: there will be organised into three different sessions in which poster presenters will have 3 minutes time to introduce orally their poster. No slides are to be used and poster presenters will stand on the stage in the conference room. |

For accepted participants and invited speakers only
All participants - including speakers, chairs & session chairs - are kindly expected to confirm their attendance (and, when applicable, to pay the conference fee) by filling in a Registration Form. Due to high application number, all accepted abstracts (short talks and posters) and grantees are asked to confirm their attendance and register by 10 July 2011.
If you have not confirmed by this date your slot/grant will be given to another participant.

GROUP TRANSPORTATION
Three buses will be arranged on arrival day from Barcelona airport to Sant Feliu and return on the day of departure. The journey takes approximately 2 hours, depending on traffic. The buses will wait in the special bus parking area located just in outside of Terminal 1, level 0. Each bus has been requested to be at the meeting point 20 minutes before scheduled departure. The buses will have a “ESF Research Conferences” sign in the window. PLEASE BOOK A SEAT HERE!

Grants are available for students and early stage researchers to cover the conference fee and possibly part of the travel costs. Grants are distributed based on financial need and scientific merit. Grantees must attend the entire conference in order to benefit from the grant. Grant requests should be made by ticking appropriate field(s) in the paragraph "Grant application" of the application form.
4 EUR of this fee is used to make this conference more ecologically sustainable. This amount will allow us to offset almost 100% of the CO2 emissions created by this conference and are part of our efforts to make ESF Research Conferences greener. For more information, please click here.
