The European Science Foundation (ESF) and the European Federation of National Academies of Sciences and the Humanities (ALLEA) offered on a competitive basis, full-cost awards to leading young scholars to participate in the ESF / ALLEA Humanities Spring 2009 I, a three-day “new horizons” workshop in Vienna, Austria,on 8-10 June 2009.

Early Career Researchers Forum:
New Perspectives for Asian Studies in the Humanities

ESF offered, on a competitive basis, full-cost awards to leading young scholars to participate in the ESF Humanities Spring 2009 II. 

The ESF Standing Committee for the Humanities (HUM (formerly SCH)) and the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation (CCKF) invited “early career researchers” to participate in a three-day “new horizons” workshop in Prague, Czech Republic, on 27 – 30 May 2009.

The second Humanities Spring meeting of 2009 resulted in the ESF Report "Asian Studies in the Humanities: Visions for the Future" which draws conclusions and makes recommendations for the future of Asian Studies.
