CALL FOR SUBSIDY APPLICATIONS - Early-Career Researchers

The Call is NOW CLOSED

A limited number of subsidies of a flat sum of €300 or £265 each, to be used for travel, accommodation and/or conference fee, will be offered to early-career researchers (research students or scholars within 10 years of completion of a PhD, whether currently in an academic post or not).

To be considered for a subsidy you do not necessarily have to be giving a paper or poster. Subsidy applications must be submitted by 31 July  2011, 12:00 noon CET through this Application Form.

The application form allows you to specify/include:

  • Full name and affiliation if appropriate;
  • Main field: history/literature/medical humanities/ethnography/other;
  • A short statement (ca 500 words) explaining why attendance at this conference will help your career;
  • Endorsement (signed by an appropriate person, eg supervisor or head of department) that you are a research student or within 10 years of completion of your PhD;
  • One-page CV;
  • Whether you are you also proposing a paper.

Selection criteria and process
The selection will be carried out by the Programme Committee according to:

  • Scientific quality: track record and potential;
  • The quality of your case for support;
  • Parity of spread (nationality, sex, age, field).
