Fundamentals of NanoElectronics (FoNE)

FoNE was a EUROCORES programme focusing on fundamental nanoscale phenomena affecting electron transport. These included: 

  1. Quantum transport, noise and correlations in quantum dots wires and other novel structures;
  2. Molecular-scale electronicsand atomic contacts;
  3. Nanoscale spin dependent transport and control;
  4. Proximity effects and hybrid nanostructures.

The research carried out underpinned many areas of nanoelectronics and helped to create the necessary knowledge for a society in which microelectronics is gradually replaced by nanoelectronics.
