2011

  • This Final EuroMARC conference was also attended by some of the Review Panel members, who then met for a final evaluation meeting about the EuroMARC Programme as a whole in view of reaching a consensus report. This report will be published within a EuroMARC final brochure which will include the highlights and achievements of the different Collaborative Research Projects (CRPs).

2010

  • Tamara Baumberger (ETH Zurich, CH, H2DEEP project) was funded to attend the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting in San Francisco, US, from 13 to 17 December 2010.

  • Nina Joseph (Erlangen University, DE, CARBONATE project) who received the prize for young researchers' best poster during the EuroMARC 2009 conference, attended the 18th International Sedimentological Congress which was held in Mendoza, Argentina, from 26 September to 01 October 2010.

  • Arne Leider (University of Bremen, DE, MOCCHA project) who received the prize for young researchers' best talk during the EuroMARC 2009 conference, attended the Gordon Research Conference on Organic Chemistry which was held at Holderess School, United States, from 01 to 06 August 2010.

  • Mieke Thierens (University College Cork, IE, CARBONATE project) has been awarded a Short Term Visit grant to visit Hans Pirlet and Professor Jean-Pierre Henriet (Ghent University, BE, EuroDIVERSITY Programme, MiCROSYSTEMS project) from 04 January to 14 february 2010.
    Aim of the visit: introduction to Nd-Sr isotopic provenance fingerprinting and application to cold-water coral carbonate mound sequences.

  • Anna-Lena Grauel (ETH Zurich, CH, MOCCHA) and Mieke Thierens (University College Cork, IE, CARBONATE) were awarded a dissemination travel grant to attend the American Geophysical Union Fall meeting in San Francisco from 14 to 18 December 2009.

  • Nil Irvali (University of Bergen, NO, AMOCINT project) has been awarded a Short Term Visit grant to visit Professor Dick Kroon (University of Edinburgh, UK, GLOW project) from 25 November to 12 December 2009.
    The aim of this visit is a transfer of skills regarding foraminiferal counting from the project GLOW to AMOCINT.

  • Andres Rüggeberg (CHECREEF) and Boris Dorschel (CARBONATE) were both awarded dissemination travel grants to attend the Young Researchers Workshop on cold-water coral mound formation which was held from 13 to 15 May 2009 in Leuven, Belgium.   • EuroMARC OS18 session during the EGU 2009 assembly that was held in Vienna from 19-24 April 2009.
  •  The EUROPOLAR ERA-NET Consortium launched the first Pilot Call for Pre-Proposals leading to potential Joint Projects to be undertaken within the PolarCLIMATE Programme.
