Lorentz Center workshop "Responsive Matrices for Solar Fuels" 28 October – 1 November 2013 Organisers: Richard Cogdell, Huub de Groot, Alfred Holzwarth, Sebastian Mackowski and Robin Purchase
Scientific Topic We seek to bring together researchers from diverse areas in (artificial) photosynthesis research in an environment that fosters discussion and interaction. The aim of the workshop is to gain an understanding of how we can imitate nature’s use of responsive matrices: components that are out of equilibrium in a controlled manner and are pre-programmed for barrier-less unidirectional energy and charge transfer. In doing so, we gain a vision on how the necessary modules for solar-to-fuel conversion can be pre-programmed by controlled time-ordered self-assembly processes to establish an intelligent device.
Lorentz Center Facilities The meeting was held at the Lorentz Center, located at the Faculty of Science campus of Leiden University, the Netherlands. For further information, please refer to the Lorentz Center website.
