This event will take place in Lisbon on the 4-5 December 2008 at the Hotel Corinthia.
Aim
The aim of this round-table meeting is to create cross-expertise interactions and develop new ideas at the interface between biology/chemistry/physics/materials and engineering, by bringing together groups working in EUROCORES Programmes and making use of external experts in the given areas. Sharing of expertises will in turn stimulate new collaborations among scientists, which could result in new ESF or EC FP7 instruments’ initiatives, exchange visits, exchange of samples etc.
Background
A SONS-DYNA Brainstorming meeting took place in Brussels on 27 September 2006 where seven members of the two scientific communities met for the first time. The agenda and minutes of that meeting are in the Annex. The talks can be downloaded from this website: www.esf.org/activities/eurocores/programmes/sons-1/events.html
On the first day of the meeting very short talks, 15 minutes each, will be given by each participant discussing a general overview of his/her area of research, what are the areas of research he/she would like to develop further and give any strategic input in the area.
During day two the topics discussed will be analysed and participants will make concrete plans about future developments and innovative approaches to this multidisciplinary research area.
