Workshop on Open problems and future directions in heavy element nucleosynthesis

The workshop took place in Debrecen, Hungary, 10-12 April 2013.

The workshop is an official inter-CRP event of EuroGENESIS and is also the third edition of the series of "p-process workshops"  organised before in Garching, Germany, 2009 and Istanbul, Turkey, 2011.

Workshop on Nuclear Astrophysics at the Canfranc Underground Laboratory

An international workshop on "Nuclear Astrophysics at the Canfranc Underground Laboratory" took place in Canfranc, 22-23 March 2012. It is the third in the series of workshops fostering European efforts to develop the next generation accelerator underground facility, following the workshop "Underground nuclear-reaction experiments for astrophysics and applications" held in Dresden in 2010 and the Round Table "LUNA-MV at LNGS" held in Gran Sasso in February 2011.

Further information about the workshop can be obtained here

Workshop on Basics and Prospects of CoDustMas, 21-22 November 2011

Workshop on Basics and Prospects of Cosmic Dust as a Diagnostic for Massive Stars took place during 21 – 22 November 2011 in Vienna, Austria, at the Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator. Click here to see the first circular (pdf, 184 kb) or click here to see all events of CRP CoDustMas.

Workshop on Nuclear Reactions of Astrophysical Interest, 27-29 April 2011

This EuroGENESIS workshop gathered groups interested in reactions of astrophysical importance from both experimental and theoretical viewpoint. The meeting started on Wednesday the 27th at 15h and finished on Friday the 29th at 13h. Establishment of synergies and collaborations in the context of planned experimental reaction studies was discussed. Detail program and registration information are available via this link:

Mini Workshop on "Stellar modeling: mixing, convection, rotation and mass loss", 2012

The first EuroGENESIS meeting in Dubrovnik was aimed at providing an overview of the different CRP programs as well as at identifying possible connections between different groups. One of the main research topics in EuroGENESIS involves modeling of stars at different stages of evolution. Stars are, of course, multidimensional rotating objects often characterized by mixing (and mass loss) episodes. Different approaches have been adopted to tackle these processes in stars. It is our feeling (probably shared by many stellar modelers) that the expertise achieved in the modeling of, say, massive stars, can help in the modeling of similar processes in other stars or stages, as for instance, in classical novae or AGBs. Therefore, the goal of this mini-workshop was to share/exchange information on different recipies adopted by different groups in the modeling of mixing, convection, rotation and mass-loss (among others) in stars.

The Meeting took place in downtown Barcelona, at the Urgell UPC Campus, where conference and discussion rooms were available for free.

CRP MASCHE kick-off

Kick-off meeting of the EuroGENESIS CRP MASCHE took place on 23/24 July 2010  in the "Darmstadtium" Conference CenterDarmstadt/Germany, following the NIC symposium in Heidelberg. A Workshop on "Data Requirements in Nuclear Astrophysics" (organized by Kerstin Sonnabend and Richard Cyburt) took place at this same location during July 25-27.

EuroGENESIS kick-off on May 6, 2010

EuroGENESIS kick off meeting took place in Strasbourg, on May 6, 2010. It was attended by project leaders of all 4 CRPs of EuroGENESIS and ESF representatives. In this meeting the Scientific Committee of EuroGENESIS was established, which is responsible for the coordination of the EuroGENESIS programme. Dr. Jordi Jose was selected as the chair of the Scientific Committee. It was decided to organise the first programme-wide workshop early during the EuroGENESIS operation either in the fall of 2010 or the beginning of 2011.
