Quantitative Measurement of the Local Surface Potential of p-conjugated Nanostructures: A Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy Study (BIONICS)
"The quantitative determination of the local surface potential of organic semiconducting nanostructures self- assembled at surfaces can be accomplished by Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM). Making use of a newly devised semi-quantitative model the KPFM image of supramolecular adsorbates can be simulated. Moreover, by comparing the topographical and surface potential images obtained by KPFM it possible to unravel the interplay between structural and electronic properties of molecule-based materials and devices."
